About

Hi, I’m Alyson Griffin, the founder of Legato Music Studio. I started this studio after rediscovering my deep love for teaching music—and the joy that comes from helping others find their own musical voice.

I hold a Bachelor of Music in K–12 Music Education from BYU, and I’ve been playing piano for over 20 years and singing in choirs for nearly as long. I originally planned to teach high school choir, but I quickly realized my heart was in one-on-one teaching. There's something truly special about getting to know each student and tailoring lessons to fit their unique goals, interests, and learning style.

My teaching philosophy is rooted in progress over perfection. I believe that every student—regardless of age or experience—can grow into the kind of musician they want to be, as long as they’re willing to put in the effort. I’m here to support, guide, and celebrate every step of that journey.
